Wyoming Autism and ABA Resources
Wyoming is one of very few states that does not have a private insurance mandate requiring commercial plans to cover autism services, which makes Wyoming Medicaid the primary coverage pathway for most families. Wyoming Medicaid covers ABA under EPSDT, but the state has one of the lowest BCBA-to-population ratios in the country and one of the fewest in-person providers per capita. Telehealth ABA is often the most practical option for Wyoming families.

Covers medically necessary ABA for eligible children under 21 through the federal EPSDT benefit. Prior authorization is typically required; ask your provider's intake team to help verify your child's benefits.

Wyoming Infant-Toddler Program
If your child is under 3, Wyoming families may qualify for free early intervention services through Wyoming Infant-Toddler Program. Services can include speech therapy, developmental support, and behavior support at no cost, even before a formal diagnosis. Once your child turns 3, services shift from early intervention to the public school system under IDEA Part B. Your state's OSEP State Lead oversees special education implementation, including IEPs and school-based support, across Wyoming.
