Getting started with Stridesy
From sign-up to your first practice session — here's exactly what to do, in order.

Add your child's profile
Enter your child's name, age, and a few basic details. You can add multiple children if needed.
Complete the intake assessment
A guided conversation asks about your child's current skills across communication, social interaction, daily living, and play. Be as honest as possible — there are no wrong answers. This takes about 10 minutes.
Review your goal plan
Stridesy generates up to 6 skill goals based on your child's assessment. Each goal shows the target skill, why it matters, and step-by-step instructions for practicing it at home.
Set up reinforcers
Tell Stridesy what motivates your child — favorite toys, activities, snacks, or praise. This helps you keep sessions engaging and effective.
Run your first session
Pick a goal, follow the instructions, and practice with your child. Afterward, log how it went — it takes about 30 seconds. That's it. You've just run your first session.
Build a daily routine
Use Stridesy's routines feature to schedule practice into your day. Consistency is the most important factor in skill development — even 15 minutes a day adds up fast.
Tips for your first week
Start with easier goals
Early wins build momentum for both you and your child. Don't worry about tackling the hardest skills first.
Keep sessions short
10–15 minutes of focused practice is more effective than a long session where your child loses interest halfway through.
Log every session
Even a quick note helps Stridesy track trends. The more data you enter, the more useful your progress reports become.
Use the reward system
Kids who have something to earn stay engaged longer. Set up the reward board before your first session.
