Indiana Autism and ABA Resources
Indiana Medicaid covers ABA for eligible children, and the Indiana Resource Center for Autism (IRCA) at Indiana University is one of the strongest free family resource centers in the Midwest. The Bureau of Developmental Disability Services (BDDS) administers waiver programs that can fund long-term supports for children and adults with autism. Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville have solid provider markets.

Indiana First Steps
If your child is under 3, Indiana families may qualify for free early intervention services through Indiana First Steps. Services can include speech therapy, developmental support, and behavior support at no cost, even before a formal diagnosis. Once your child turns 3, services shift from early intervention to the public school system under IDEA Part B. Your state's OSEP State Lead oversees special education implementation, including IEPs and school-based support, across Indiana.
